Trackbacks are gone

Continued spam trackbacks to the blog have meant that I am now disabling trackbacks completely. You can still ping back a post on here that you want to link to directly, its only the trackbacks that are gone.

Not sure why its only trackbacks that get so much spam ( 1900+ in the last 24 hrs here ), and not pingbacks....

Btw, blacklisting .info, .biz and .name and setting up some regex scanners for links in comments has resulted in almost nil comment spam making it through! There have been 3 complaints ( that I can recall off the top of my head ) to this policy, but overall its working well. If spam picks up again, I guess a human-detector step will need to come into the process. The problem, I can see, with that being that while it would work fine for comment spam, its not going to be possible to have a step of that nature in the trackbacks/ pingbacks since that process is usually done by the blog software anyway with no human intervention.
