Everyone loves a Cluster, as do I
The CentOS 4 ClusterSuite for i386 ( x86 / ia31 ) is now available for testing at http://rpm.karan.org/el4/csgfs/ . Get playing already, I know you want to :)
For the moment its only the Cluster Suite that is online, GFS will be here before the end of today. Tru Huynh has done some work with the x86_64 rpms, need to co-ordinate a few things with him, and the x86_64 stuff should show up there as well.
This is a testing area, please keep that in mind, and all forms of bug reports are welcome, either over email or at http://bugs.centos.org/ . Once we consider these rpms to be stable they will move to mirror.centos.org/
Lots of info on the ClusterSuite and GFS at http://sources.redhat.com/cluster/
Enjoy!
[ Update: The GFS code and modules are online now. The i386 suite is complete. Test away! ]
The CSGFS Code has been released under CentOS.org - Use that instead !!

we're testing your gfs and cluster suite systems in our company. We're very happy with their performance and encourage you to keep working that way. We would like to know when is going to be a release version, so we can put centOS 4 in production.
Thank you very much:

CentOS 4.2 is going to be released shortly - as soon as that is done, I will rebase the entire GFS + RHCS code to 4.2 and rerelease as stable. You should see an official announcement to that effect within the next 10 - 12 days.
Thank you for all the support
everything should work fine - however, I am in the process of updating the packages and putting out a fresh install set. Keep a lookout for that.
We'd be willing to test your Centos 4.2 GFS RPMS on a platform we're developing on iSCSI.
Will keep checking back on RPMS for kernel-smp-2.6.9-22.0.1.EL.x86_64 compat RPMS.
Cheers for your work,
Also, which mailing list do you recommend for gfs discussion on centos? centos-devel?
We are testing the new packages - there are a few issues with the sources that are being published upstream - and we would like to get them sorted out before releasing the code.
The best place to talk about development related stuff is centos-devel, but user space / user grade stuff is best kept in centos Mailing List- you are most likely to get maximum user interaction that way.
i posted on the centos forum but didn't get any "experienced" responses.
i would like to use redhat's tried-and-true cluster suite, along with GFS, but i do not want to actually -use- redhat. i stopped after they showed me poor customer experience with redhat 9.0. anyway. i'm going to bookmark this, so i can check back. i want to know when it's stable on centos... this might make me decide to use it (instead of debian or freebsd!)
also, my shared storage plan is to use ATA-over-ethernet (AoE) products from Coraid. i might not have them installed when i first setup my cluster, but that's my plan, as iSCSI is too expensive.
please post back here when it looks good! i will be checking daily :)
The Release Announcement can be found here. Report issues at http://bugs.centos.org/
