We have a CVS snapshot version of Enlightenment DR17 ( e17 ) in the i386 Testing repo hosted at http://centos.karan.org/el4/misc/testing/.

In order to install e17, you need to enable both the kb-centos-extras and kb-centos-misc from http://centos.karan.org/ enabled ( make sure you check the [testing] repo is enabled as well, by default its set to enabled=0 ). You will also need to have either dag's repo ( http://dag.wieers.com/packages ) or the RPMForge ( http://rpmforge.net/ ) repositories enabled. Some of the packages are compiled against XineLib from there. Then install as :

yum install enlightenment e_modules e_utils

These are CVS snapshots, not stable release grade code, and will change often. Having said that, I should point out that its been relatively stable for me so far.

I have this d/l as I type, but not sure how it will look on my 800 x 600 resolution.

Ok it installed fine, but when I run I get the following error, I of course am missing something but I don't know enough to know what :). Any ideas?

what exactly do you mean 'downloaded', the package manager will install and setup things automatically, you dont need to download anything manually....

once installed, logout of the machine, then log back in - and select Englightenment from the 'session type' ( there should be a menu /option list on the login screen for this ).

Well when I saw download I mean yum is pulling it down. Look at my other comment it did install fine, but then some error and it barfs. Any ideas what is wrong? I will try setting that option in the login screen when I get back home tonight.

I think its fair to expect a WindowManger to not run like an app, you are trying to run it while there is already another windowmanager running, the error message is quite clear on that.

There are a few major issues reported from upstream, I am waiting for them to fix those before there is a repackage issued.

Also, since Release seems close, would it make more sense to just wait for release and package then ?
