32.5k CV's and counting...

Permalink 27/Sep/2005 15:53 , Categories: General

Due to some random fluke, a couple of job postings abroad ended up with my rarely used gmail.com email address being the final delivery point for CV's.

Result ? lotsa mail, lotsa CVs and lots and lots of funny ones too...

how many ? this Many -> cv's

Also, the job postings seem to have specifically asked for MS-Word .doc file formats, nothing that doc2html wont fix! but then what ? can I actually import these CV's into a mysqldb and do some stats on them ? or do privacy law's require me to just silently discard the lot ? Since the CV's are not even from the UK, and the job postings were never made in the UK - I am not even sure as to what privacy laws would be aplicable in the first place. The flip side to the same situation -> since they were delivered into my mailbox, they are mine!

BTW here in Italy we use to put at the end of our CV a little disclaimer thay says basically "in respect to the law 1234 of YEAR i authorize you to manage my data for employing matters only" ....

I hope I was clear ....

Welcome to my Blog. Various bits of rambling and going-on's find their way here. If you have something to say, I would love to hear it from you.
