Reading list for Oct 2005
here is my reading list for Oct 2005..
- Maps for Lost Lovers - Nadeem Aslam ( based on Avi's recommendation, I finally got this one )
- The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini ( couple of people pointed it out as an excellent read )
- Kafka on the Shore - Haruki Murakami ( has been on my want-to-read list for way too long )
- Shalimar the Clown - Salman Rushdie ( its a Rushdie..... )
I had a look, another look, and then decided to postpone for a few months Kazuo Ishiguro's Never let me go. Even the pretty girl at Waterstones was unable to swing it, with her "the book to read, everyone wants to read it". Or maybe it was her saying just that.

All the books mentioend are great with the weakest being "Shalimar The Clown" - but I would read that for exactly the same reason you would - it is a Rushdie. "Never Let Me Go" is supposed to be really good too - give it a try when you get the chance along with Zadie Smith's "On Beauty". Happy reading .....:)
