laptop space in the plane
I've always had an issue with laptops in the plane - either there isnt enough space to actually get productive, or the guy sitting in front will recline so far back that there isnt even room to even open the laptop in front of you.
One solution that worked out quite well for me this time was to move to the Cabin Crew's jump seat - right off the bulk head. Its crazy in that there is no table in front of you - but as long as you are ok to work with the laptop sitting on you lap, its quite cool. You have all the leg room, and lots of space around as well.
And if you have one of those airtravel laptop power adapters - you can even plug that into the handset of the person sitting on the last row on the other side of the wall.
Oh and make sure you have large, full ear kind of headphones - that drowns out almost 80% of the airplane noise. And if you listen to some good ol metal / hard rock -> the other 20% blends into the music quite nicely.
The other option, that is also known to work, is to fly business class.
