Travel in and pre-Fosdem drinks
The journey into Brusseles was quite cool, EuroStar is quick, quiet and comfortable. Flying into these parts of Europe from the UK makes no sense whatsoever...
Got here, gota cab to the hotel - checked in. Walked into the room, and for some reason the room seemed to be amazingly cold - checked and found the AirCon running at Max cooling! geeze. these belgians must be nuts. Its quite cold out there as it is.. anyway about 15 minutes later, I released one of the walls is about 40% made up of this massive window - a window thats open - a window thats got a loose hinge - a window that will not close!!!! Anyway, so moved to another room, a few floors higher up and this one seems ok.
oh, the WiFi at the hotel is quite quick - now that I have this figured out. And their dhcp server is broken, it wont hand out the correct default route or the correct dns servers...
After getting a bit settled in, walked over to the Grand Place ( drinks were at Le Roy d'Espagne ), a few drinks with people - met up with fellow gllug'ers - Morsing! Wethrin! new2unix! agk! ( didnt get the name of that guy who wrote a book on Game programming, and was screaming something about women, at people walking by )
hey, sdog - where is my beer ? :)
Back at the hotel now - going to get some sleep and then try and work out how to get to the venue in the morning.
Oh, and by the way - EL4 U3 is not going to be out this weekend or early next week ( from reliable sources ).

Sorry about the beers, I've had lots of people commenting me on my "Everything is a fscking dns problem" T-shirt but I didn't see anyone wearing a Cent-OS T-Shirt either
The beers will have to wait till the UKUUG Lisa then, I`m sure it will be lots easier to find me as I`ll be presenting a talk there :)
I'm certain I did not have to manually configure the DNS/Route when using the same WiFi access with Mac OS X.
I'm not sure why you had trouble.
