n810 or the EEE pc
What would it be then, the Nokia n810 ? or the Asus EEE pc ? Both look as if they are trying to hit the same sort of demographic, except the EEE seems to be more of a machine, and the n810, pretty much everything else except its not a PC and the screen is a lot smller.
So, if it was going to be one ? which one would it be!

No they are not for sale in the UK.
In the EU the donation part of the payment would have to be handled differently.
The warranty can't be 30 days in EU.
The device would need a CE mark and RoHS/WEEE compliance testing/adjustments.
Damn.

30 days is a big naff as warranties go, even worse than what Apple's deals are :D

I bought an EEE. If you add a USB 3G dongle for connectivity you can use it online anywhere you can get wifi/3G signal, putting it in the N810 area for access.
I installed Ubuntu on mine, but of course it's open to install anything you like. Something that's not so easy on the Nokia 810 I guess.

I've got an EEE PC - default Xandros install is quite good for newbies but has a big security hole.
See link.
I guess I'll have to keep the default OS on there to show people what they would get if they bought one. But I'll put another OS on an SD card.

Matthew, cool.
Btw, passwords like that should now really be stored in the keyring for the user, which in turn is protected by a password.
I got a 8 gb microsd for £12 + £2.99 shipping off ebay - you might want to look there perhaps.
